6-Day Umbwe Route - Kilimanjaro Climbing

The Umbwe Route is the most direct and steepest route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Operated by Kilimanjaro Mountaineers, this 6-day itinerary is designed for strong, confident trekkers seeking a raw, adventurous ascent with professional guidance and strict safety protocols.

The Umbwe Route offers a challenging, less-crowded ascent that joins the Southern Circuit near Barranco Camp before continuing to the summit. It is best suited for very fit trekkers with previous high-altitude hiking experience.

This route is NOT recommended for beginners or first-time high-altitude trekkers. Kilimanjaro Mountaineers strongly advises proper preparation before attempting Umbwe.
